First Tafe assignment handed in and I am very happy with my mark "Distinction" 75-85% .

Topic was Flow- water, rivers.

Now if only i can do so well in my second one , which is almost finished now.

This is how the trailer is looking at the moment it is a shade of khaki. Tomorrow I will post another photo to see what shade of colour it will end up being.

Finally got photo to work, this is one of the pages from mini album, the pic on the right had a mishap and it is not joined to the rest of the pages that fold out of the tin.But I have put ribbons on it to pull it out of the tin.Will try to publish photo of front of tin if it will work.

why is it so lylah tin photo still to come

I have been trying to put up a photo of my mini photo album in a tin. I dont seem to be able to get it to load at the moment. Will try again tomorrow. I had some small photos from a photo index, to give my friend and what better way than to jazz them up into a small album for her to take in her purse or bag. Until later when i get photo working have a great day.

Assignment one "Flow"

Sorry pictures are so small . These are the brainstorming mindmap we did about the river theme. Then some examples in class like problems or river dying and affecting fish and animals,survival for those who rely on the river and water for survival. Economic affects, ecological affects, uses inclue relaxations water sports etc.Other pictures are my sketches for concepts and final drawn illustration. Hope this helps.

This is second step of my concepts, after outline drawn, then colour applied, watercolour paints used , collage, acrylic paints, collection done on computer for different colour effects.last 2 quilted .

Update for this week

Have not put a photo up this week,have resumed my studies at Tafe, first assignment is due in 2 weeks. Subject matter is FLOW, water from the local rivers, Murray and Goulburn rivers and valleys. Will show photo of progress later.

View from cafe at Federation Square melb, new versers old buildings on Flinders St. The contrast of the buildings was what captured my eye so i just had to take a photo.

This photo looks like the kids are actually in a plane but they are seated watching a tv and the plane is a picture on the wall next to them.

hibiscus flower

We have been sweltering in 38-40 degrees this week.So are not venturing away from the airconditioner or paddling pool much. This flower has been taken from my garden and is a hibiscus that comes up each year and then flowers for one day and goes away until next summer.

quilt art challenge 2006 so far

this is my quilt design so far, no teacups yet but they will be placed on the tablecloth. The original photo had teacups in a timber box. Hence the brown timber border. It also meant rural or country to me.The greenery is of the mt bogong and surrounding hills. The view from my parents house. The cane chair , to sit on and view the scenery of a tea party on the decking looking over the mountains. I have made this up using photoshop and illustrator programs. My first attempt.

Having a nice quiet holiday at home

We have had a few quiet days at home. Much needed. We have put up the pool in the back yard and hopefully the next couple of days will see it well used. Currently working on my ART QUILT CHALLENGE.Will put up my ideas shortly that i am currently creating. Only 4 weeks to go till i go back to TAFE , so much , so little time to do it all in.
